NMEA 2000
CAN-based marine network connection; controller, transceiver, isolation, termination and power behavior to be engineered.
Product / SeaHAT
SeaHAT brings the marine interface challenge closer to embedded navigation computers — a proposed expansion HAT targeting Raspberry Pi 3, 4 and 5 and Bareboat Necessities OS deployments.
01 / Target capabilities
The initial concept covers the interfaces commonly needed in vessel data acquisition and navigation projects. The final channel count, connectors and electrical architecture remain to be specified.
CAN-based marine network connection; controller, transceiver, isolation, termination and power behavior to be engineered.
Serial marine data connectivity; input/output count and electrical interfacing to be confirmed.
Position and timing input path, with receiver topology and antenna interface under evaluation.
Selected legacy or SeaTalk NG interoperation paths to be assessed, with proper protocol and electrical adaptation.
02 / Host ecosystem
The proposed SeaHAT targets the Raspberry Pi ecosystem through the familiar expansion-header concept. Electrical compatibility, mechanical fit, Linux drivers and HAT identification are separate qualification tasks for each Pi generation.
